Since Princeton is need blind to internationals, does it matter whether someone poor is applying with not a single penny or under some government scholarships?.. Would the scholarships boost his or her application in any way? Since it’s need blind, i assume financially the person without scholarships won be discriminated… But would he be judged less impressive/abled in his application because the lack of scholarships?

If a student was awarded a government scholarship for winning a prestigious competition or something similar, he/she would be at an advantage, but simply having financial backing does not boost one’s application.

What if we don have to win any competition to get the scholarships? They just pick based on you academics, ecs and a selection process? Would that help in the admissions or it doesnt matter at all?

if that’s the case than it doesn’t matter. Is that not what colleges choose on as well?

So holding a scholarship is not a factor/advantage in the admission process? So the admission officers won care about such scholarships since they are needblind?

If you won a scholarship for where you live, that is circumstantial. Not everyone had the opportunity to win it. It’s not really going to help you considering that it did not display proficiency in any specific area. It was nothing more than a pre-analysis of your grades and ECs. I say pre-analysis because it is the exact same one that you will have when applying to a college.

1MX? Meaning it helps to have one?

it helps in the sense that you proved your worth to the government of our country, so you have a decent shot at proving your worth to princeton. Not in the sense that you hold this general scholarship, so that automatically makes you better than someone who never had the chance to earn it.
