Scholarships

What is there available for OOS merit scholarships? I’ve looked on the website but haven’t had much success. I have a 3.9 UW GPA and 34 ACT if it helps.

Thanks

I’m a scholarship recipient. All students who are admitted are assessed for scholarships. Furthermore, the likely of getting a scholarship depends on which school you apply. For example, if you applied to kinesiology, you would more likely get a scholarship. However, if you applied to LSA, you are competing against everyone admitted at LSA during that cycle.

I only know very few who got scholarships based soley on merit. It is mostly based on your extracurricular activities and your income level. For example, the scholarship office said they really like research on their applicants.

Same experience as arock. My kid is in LSA, and got a departmental science scholarship that the school handles for a private donor. A wealthy gentleman in New York who wanted to help people interested in research in biological fields, because his sight was restored at UMich eye center. 5K per year for 4 years. We were not expecting this, and it was such an incredibly cool surprise! Just make sure to fill out the scholarship section of your admissions paperwork, and you’ll be considered for anything you qualify for. Arock…In retrospect, my kiddo did do over a hundred volunteer hours at a biological station research lab (that was documented by another university) the summer before starting college. Maybe that gave her an edge?
