<p>AU gives Merit Scholarships to their highest ranking applicants. My son was given the highest - $27,500 a year - and had SAT scores of 760 math, 730 critical reading and 690 writing. He was number 12 in a class of 375 and had a weighted GPA of 4.3 and unweighted of 3.9. Many extracurriculars. Unfortunately (for me) he turned it down.</p>
