Hello! does anyone know of a link of trusted databases for scholarships? or if New York, Columbia grants them for outside state residence? I went through a little under 300 scholarships on college board that I was matched with and only found 4 that the deadline has not been reached and applies to me.

Also, when do we sign up for classes??

fastweb.com, s-cholarships.com (without the hyphen; CC blocks the URL for some reason) I think you do stuff with classes after you meet with your adviser some time this summer.

Columbia doesn’t grant any scholarships, it only gives out need-based aid. It calculates how much your parents can afford to pay a year, subtracts that from the total cost of attendance, and then the university foots the rest of the bill.

thanks a lot. Do I meet my adviser over the phone or online or do I have to go to Columbia again?

drake - you might meet your adviser over the summer, they have summer advising stuff as i recall. but if you were like me and didn’t live near a big city it is fine; you wait until the fall. you meet your adviser during orientation week, pick classes then. for now check out the directory of classes to start thinking about what to do. but otherwise relax, finish out your year strong and if you are taking APs, rock them as you get credits.
