There are thousands of websites offering scholarships. How do we know which are legitimate?

it depends. i don’t use scholarship websites, but UCLA has a scholarship resource center and they sometimes post links to online scholarships that are legitimate.

there are also websites which make you pay to view scholarships. you can probably just google ‘legitimate scholarship website’ and you’ll find people’s experience with fraduelent ones. and when you find a website you think is legit, then you can just google the website’s name and find people’s experiences with it.

Fastweb.com has a very reputable clearinghouse for public scholarship competitions, and their FREE services will help you (or your student) narrow down what scholarship opportunities are a best fit.
