I applied to a ton of scholorships saying I was going into elementary school teaching. But now i’ve changed my mind and I want to be a Hairdresser. I’m wondering if the scholorships I get saying i’m going to be a teacher can be used toward my hairdressing instead?
Check the criteria for the scholarships in question. If they require you to be enrolled in a programs towards gaining a teaching credential, then you would probably no longer be eligible. Some scholarships are just based on writing an essay, others based on community service, etc.
Are you planning to go to a four year college?
If you are going to hairdressing school…your scholarships likely won’t apply.
They are at the same College! Teaching is 4 years and Hairdressing is only 10 months. Some scholorships i’ve applied to are strictly because I was going into teaching and like you said, some are just community service… etc. Thanks so much for answering me!
Well…it’s highly likely that the ones designated formteachers ONLY won’t be able to be sued for hairdressing.
But hairdressing is NOT usually a college degree program. It’s a vocational certificate. Are you sure that you can use your scholarships for a program that is NOT a college degree program?
Teaching is a degree program and I am willing to be money that Hairdressing is a certificate program with a pathway to licensure. Many scholarships require you to be matriculated (enrolled in an pursuing a degree) students. While your college may have a certificate in hairdressing, you are not getting a degree.
