Hello, does anyone know how to become a student representative of district school board? Credentials? grade? application procedure?
This depends on your school board. In our district, the principal will invite 2-3 sophomores to apply in the late spring for 1 position by writing an essay - they have a junior class and a senior class representative.
Our school also has students who videotape the board meetings for the public access TV channel (my son did this for a couple years).
In my school district the the principal announces there are application packets for students (who will be juniors or seniors the next school year) interested in serving as a student rep. on the school board. To run for this position you are required to have a have good grades, provide your own transportation to the meetings, write an essay stating why you would be good for this position (or something along those lines), get 2 recommendation letters from your teachers and fill out the application packet.
