My school doesn’t offer AP or IB (international but American citizen). How important are AP courses? Also, my school only offers a certain set of classes that u have to take, so everyone has to take the same courseload, theres no extremely rigorous and all that… So is AP life threatening for schools like JHU, Rice, and stuff? And what are credit points?

Only important if you school offers them. Just take advantage of all the opportunities that are presented to you since that is all you can do. Colleges take this into consideration during the application process by reviewing your school’s report.

However, standardized testing will probably be more important for so you so work on that since that’s the only way you’ll be able to compete academically. Be involved and do good ECs that you genuinely enjoy and you will give yourself a shot at those schools.

Good Luck!
