Could someone tell me what schools are in each “group”? I know what AESD is (Andover-Exeter-St. Paul’s-Deerfield), but people keep mentioning “The Big Five” and MAPL schools. Please post what schools are in there, and what they mean, and any other sort of boarding school jargon. Kind of like a boarding school key. Thanks. :)

The Big Five are probably Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Choate, and SPS.

MAPL is an organization like TSAO, I believe.

Ten Schools Admissions Organization comprises of Choate Rosemary Hall, Deerfield Academy, The Hill School, The Hotchkiss School, The Lawrenceville School, Loomis Chaffee, St. Paul’s School, Phillips Exeter Academy, Phillips Academy Andover, and The Taft School.

MAPL consists of Blair, Hill, Hun, Lawrenceville, Mercersburg, and Peddie.

BTW - The Big Five isn’t like MAPL or TSAO. Things like HYP i just like an acronym for Harvard Princeton Yale. I could just say AWTG and it could mean many things.

TSAO? Never heard of it. Which schools?

I’d appreciate the same kind of thing, J. :)

MAPL is a boarding school sports league in the mid-atlantic area – Blair Academy, the Hill School, Peddie School, Lawrenceville, Mercersburg and the Hun School of Princeton. Here is the article from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Atlantic_Prep_League .

TSAO is the Ten Schools Admissions Admissions Organization.

Here’s the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ten_Schools_Admissions_Organization

Aw, that’s so funny - both of you had articles from Wikipedia.
Thanks, though!
