<p>I am divorced, my student lives with their father. I am the one who claims this student on my taxes. </p>
<p>My question is when they fill out the student loan applications etc. whose salary do they use, mine or his? My salary is MUCH less</p>
<p>Also, if I am the one whose salary is used, do I have to co-sign the loan applications?</p>

<p>The parent who the child lived with the most during the preceding 12 months and the parent who provided financial support is the one will be considered the custodial parent.</p>
