Georgia Girl is right, the CLAS at schools are usually referred to as “School name College”. Like Georgetown College or Harvard College. Annenberg, Viterbi, Marshall are all pre-professional schools, no? The common trend seems to be that those schools always end up being named through giving by generous alumni.

What about SCA? Pre-professional but has no “name” like the other schools do. And if I recall correctly, I didn’t see any license plates, shirts, et cetera with SCA on it. :(

and the newest named school is the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry.

Schools are typically named after someone who donates a lot of money. AFAIK, it has nothing to do with being pre-professional or not.

SCA is not named after anyone… yet. I think the only school that may not eventually be named is the College of Letters Arts and Sciences, simply because it’s such an all-encompassing school and no one donor would be adequate to represent it.
