Hi,
I was recently accepted into the school of NYT summer academy, but I was not given enough money. Is it a good enough program that I should try to find a way to pay for it? Please let me know!
If it is not affordable, don’t do the program. You can do plenty of other things over the summer.
My student really loved her experience. It felt worth it to us.
Assuming that you received a 50% scholarship award, how difficult would it be for your family to fund the remaining 50% ?
Summer programs made a meaningful difference for us.
I only received 1,800 in scholarship out of the almost 7k it costs. My family could fund the 3,500 probably but 5,000 is a stretch— my mom is saying she’d find a way to pay for it but i feel bad
If it is too expensive, then you need to pass.
You were awarded a 25% scholarship ($7,265 COA) when you needed at least a 50% scholarship. Unfortunately, the COA of $7,265 does not include incidental expenses and travel which can be substantial in New York City. The actual cost to attend is probably at least a total of $8,000.
Look for other opportunities with a much lower cost.
P.S. Have you considered any online programs ?
