School returning with little/no precautions

More information on how readily or not children spread the virus to others (i.e. parents, teachers, staff) is important to know when K-6?8?10?12? schools try to make policy based on the risk level of virus spread in the schools.

When there is no information, the schools will have to guess, and the cost of guessing incorrectly (in any direction) can be quite large.

We live 45 mins from DS Class of 2024’s college. He picked his roomie and all that already. But should we just have him live at home his freshmen year to escape some of this chaos?

Could depend on factors like:

A. Will all instruction be distance education even for students living on campus (i.e. the academic experience will not be different)?
B. Will students living on campus be subject to very restrictive social distancing / isolation / quarantine rules that eliminate the non-academic reasons that living on campus may be desirable?
C. Will there be some students on campus who, despite any restrictive rules, will be careless enough to be likely to spread virus or bringing it in from the outside whatever “bubble” the campus tries to make itself into?

@Laxmama24, you will get more responses if you start your own thread about your situation.
