Hi,

I am a Canadian student who is not an American resident. However, my parents have already applied for American citizenship and are waiting for an interview date so that means then I would need to go to school in the states next year, otherwise, I wouldn’t be worrying so much about choosing a school.

I’m not familiar with the school in the States so I need some suggestions. I’m choosing to go to school in either near California, Seattle, New York, or Chicago.

My Stats:
SAT Math: 540
SAT Writing: 520
SAT CR: 490
GPA: 3.2 Unweighted

My school does not offer any AP’s and I will be taking Math lvl2 and Physics subject tests in December.

I know these stats are not very good but I have a strong list of EC’s. My dream school was UCLA, but considering these stats, I don’t think I would get in. My second choice would be University of Washington but I think it will be a major reach for me. I’d also like to major in computer science/engineering since I have a strong passion in that field. And most of my EC’s have something to do with web programming.

I used PR’s Counselor-O-Matic, and some safety schools that I knew of for me were:
1.) University of Illinois at Chicago
2.) CUNY
Reaches:
1.) University of San Francisco
2.) SUNY Buffalo
Good Matches:
1.) DePaul University
2.) CUNY

I don’t know how accurate the tool is so that is why I am looking for some suggestions from human beings.

Thanks.
