My early-graduating high school senior had decided to take a gap year this coming year. She did apply & was accepted to some schools during her senior year but at 15 & early 16, she really didn’t know what she wanted yet. She would like to apply to some schools that might be better fits for her while she takes her gap year to focus on her writing & music.

Her criteria now include:
- academic fit (she scored a 32 ACT, 4.0 GPA, SAT 2 Lit 780, AP Engl. 4),
- Within a day’s drive (about 8 hours) of Pittsburgh, PA (closer is better)
- Lots of writing classes
- music class availability for non-majors
- no schools with campuses that are indistinct from the city around them (campuses in a city that are still very separate from the city are ok)
- rural schools are better
- no super-liberal schools
- financially viable ( we have a very low EFC, so need blind, meeting full-need type schools would be better)

Any suggestions? She applied but was waitlisted at Kenyon in OH…she really liked that school. TIA! -J
