Not enough information to determine if she was pot-stirring. But of course everyone is jumping to quick condemnation so that interested me. For example, did she actually say that certain races are “smarter” than others? Or did she say something like Asians score higher than, well, everybody, on SAT tests. Because the latter is actually true, according to insidehighered.com (and other sources) but could easily be twisted into her saying that some races are smarter than others. Context matters. Well listening to the podcast, she did say Asians score higher on standardized tests (true) and “have higher IQs.” They do score higher. Is it IQ - well, it appears it is a number of factors, including culture, likelihood of intact families, etc. Well, that’s an argument.

“I get to talk about topics that make people uncomfortable”. Um, ok. That standing alone means little. “The culture of school is just so anti-red-pilling.” I honestly did not even know what that meant, so I looked it up. Apparently, it is a Matrix reference in which one gets the choice of a red pill or a blue pill, and the red pill represents reality.
College campus safe spaces and feminism were discussed. Ok.

In this podcast, she argues generally against bureaucracy and leftist bias. Ok. She discussed the freedom she has as a teacher now but how she felt constrained to adhere to accepted liberal views while being supervised in her first year. When a kid asked questions (government shutdown, North Korea, ISIS, were all questions mentioned ), she said she answered them from her perspective. She agrees with interviewer that she finds it important to represent that there are many sides, and the school books are very biased. In said books, she said America is always the good guy and never does anything wrong. Ok. She states correctly that she knows her own kids will likely face liberal bias in school but she will counteract it at home, not try to get the teacher fired for having erroneous views. Sounds good to me; many parents have to do that. They veered into a discussion about home schooling and private schools. And how poverty affects learning. Ok.
Of COURSE she is speaking from her bias. Everyone teaching school is speaking from his bias and indoctrinating the kids. Are you kidding me? Anyone who thinks otherwise is completely delusional. I have several degrees. We were being indoctrinated at every level. Make no mistake about that. I have kids in college. There is nothing new under the sun.
Middle school kids handle indoctrination every day from every teacher. Let them hash it out with her.
Not quite ready to hurl stones yet. I didn’t hear anything on the podcast that was racist, unless it was the “Asians have a higher IQ” thing.
