I’m a teacher, so you don’t need to tell me what happens in schools. Of course everyone has their own beliefs and background, in the same way anybody in any profession would bring that into their work. So yeah, you caught me – I’m a little more passionate when I teach “Night” than the other teachers because it affected my ancestors personally. And I enjoy presenting a range of authors from different cultures, because diversity is important to me (which the common core actually calls for, but whatever). Are you one of those people who believes everything is black and white and nothing has any nuance whatsoever? Of course “indoctrinating” your students with racism, antisemitism, white supremacy, and Islamophobia is objectively worse than the typical bias a teacher would bring into the classroom.
