School that will accept a 28 ACT (composite)

I got a 28 ACT composite score. I have a 4.1 GPA, and I have extra curricular activities on my resume- I play varsity tennis, I’ve held an after-school job since 2015, etc. But I was just curious if any prestigious/ highly regarded academic schools would even consider a 28 ACT.

Many schools would love to have you attend with your 28 ACT.

What are you looking for? Are you a high school senior still searching? If you want folks to give you suggestions, you will need to post more info to include your desired major, location, how much your family can afford etc

Without doing new research, I can only go by my daughter’s spreadsheet that she created to compare schools. Among the 13 that she has now applied to, only 4 had ACT median scores of 30 or below… Univ of Texas, Univ of Miami, Florida State University and the University of Tampa. The next closest, at 31, was Univ of Virginia.

UVa, UTexas and UMiami are all top-50 universities. The top-25 schools that she applied to were more in the range of 31-33 for median ACT scores.

But even with an ACT score of 28, you will have some excellent choices.

Good luck…

MORE INFORMATION TO GO WITH THE ORIGINAL POST

I am a current high school senior in Northern Colorado. I am not 100% sure what I want to study, like many 17-year-olds, but environmental design, environmental law, and aerospace sciences are definitely interests of mine. I was interested in going to either the east or west coast for school (get out of the midwest). There are so many schools to choose from as many prestigious schools are located in the east and in california. As for my financial situation, I live with both of my parents; both of whom are teachers. Combined they make about 90-100k, but I also have a brother in college and he has pricey medical expenses that come out of that 100k.

I have this thought in my mind that in order for me to go out of state, I would have to go to a good college; otherwise it’s just a waste of money. This might be dumb reasoning, but it’s a mix of my want to go out of state and my desire to want to go to a good college.
