schools contacting references

<p>I noticed on an application that the teachers, etc are asked to provide email and phone information. </p>

<p>Has anyone has had any experience with a prep school calling or emailing teachers for further information about the student?</p>

<p>I wouldn’t mind if they did. I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with this actually happening: admissions calling a principal, teacher, or coach to discuss the candidate. It happens all the time in the job market.</p>

<p>Yup. At least one school contacted my son’s English Teacher/Placement counsolor. I don’t think it’s common, but more likely when I child is on the “fence.” Remind me later about it.</p>
