Schools for an English Major?

Hello,

I am a current high school senior looking to add a few more schools to my college list. I want to study English with options to double major/minor easily in another subject. I plan to go into law school after getting my undergraduate degree. My current college list stands at:

Boston College
Boston University
Hobart and William Smith Colleges
Indiana University Bloomington
Miami University (Ohio)
George Washington University
University of Denver
Villanova University

I would like to be near a city and on the East Coast. I am from Indiana though, so I would also consider schools in the Midwest. I currently attend a prestigious boarding school ranked in the top twenty boarding schools in America. I currently have a 3.7 unweighted GPA. My ACT is currently only a 30, although I am waiting to here back from my last test which I’m hoping is a 31 or 32. I did score a perfect 36 on the Reading portion. At my school our four class schedule only allows us to take at 1-2 APs per year, with almost all of them only available during the junior and senior year. I already have a 5 on the AP Language and Composition and are taking AP Psychology and AP English Literature this year. I also am in advanced language classes, and graduating with an Honors diploma. Outside of academics I play soccer and field hockey, serve as my class secretary, work as a school ambassador, run a community service club, and other extracurriculars. I am also one of the top ranking seniors in my school’s leadership system.

Please suggest any other schools to add/drop from my last. I would like at least one more reach school.

Thank you!

American University of Beirut! Just kidding - couldn’t resist - my son is an English major at AUB. Still makes me chuckle.

How much is your EFC and how much can your family afford to pay each year?

Wellesley and Wesleyan. Wellesley is all female. It’s a stunning campus in a suburban town outside Boston. Academics are top notch. School/students have close ties to Harvard and MIT. One family friend who recently graduated took several MIT classes; I don’t know how that works. Wesleyan is terrific for writing and arts. It’s very “hot” now, partly because Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) is a well-known, successful alum.
