Schools I'll Get Merit At?

Rising senior. Quick rundown of stats:
35 ACT
4.55 GPA, ranked 4 or 5/120 so in the top 5%
Decent to pretty good ECs
Good essays
Great recs

My list right now is reach heavy. UMass Amherst, my state school, is my only true safety where I’ll get a decent amount of merit.
My family won’t have trouble paying for college no matter where I go due to some great investments and a good paying job. Regardless, I’d still be interested in merit money that would cut down on costs.
I’m interested in economics/business/statistics. I’d like to leave MA, but don’t want to go too far South or West. Duke/Vanderbilt are the farthest South schools I’ve looked at, and that’s probably my limit.
Any ideas? Thanks!

University of Alabama

If you like UMass and it will give you enough aid, you don’t need any other safeties.

Based on your thread title, I question the quality of your essays.

Sorry, feeling snarky today.

The biggest merit schools may be further away than you want, places like Alabama, Tulane, Miami, etc. Might want to look at Elon, which is not far from Duke, and also George Washington.

Thank you Erin’s Dad, the lists helped a lot. Added Wake Forest and Fordham to my list to research.
