Schools in Santa Fe

I’ve been looking at two schools in Santa Fe and hopefully will visit both of them sometime in November. They are College of Santa Fe and St. John’s College. I am interested in Visual Arts but have a strong background with writing and reading and my counselor thinks I would like and excel at St. John’s. I guess I won’t be able to pick one over the other until I visit, but in terms of curriculum I’m not sure which I would rather.
Part of me likes St. John’s because it seems challenging and well rounded. But I don’t know how I feel about everybody taking the same classes and having no major. I want to have studio art and would that be possible at St. John’s?
College of Santa Fe has a strong arts program but would I be missing out on everything else?
And I don’t understand how not having a major at St. John’s developpes a student’s specific interest.

Any advice/experience???
