Schools like USC and Miami

I’m applying to USC and Miami and looking for schools similar to them, in that they’re strong academically, not impossible to get into, they’re in a warm area, and the students like to have a good time. Do you guys know of schools like these that are a little easier to get into?

thanks

^ I was going to say Texas/UCLA/Florida as well.

While we’re at it. Oklahoma and Alabama should be added to the lot. Though I’m not sure about their academic standing. ( I know they aren’t very high though)

In addition to the ones already listed, look at UNC and UGA.

some comments:

USC is no longer easy to get into, with high SAT’s and a low acceptance rate it is becoming very competitive.

the UC schools are very tough to get accepted unless your GPA is over 3.9. They seem to favor a high GPA over high SAT’s

Tulane sounds like it fits what you’re looking for.

UTA is also very difficult to get into unless you are top 10% in a TX school.
OP didn’t ask for a beach, just people having fun in a warm climate for which Norman qualifies. And you brought up UT which doesn’t have a beach.

Yeah I was going to say Tulane as well. Your description, OP, matches what I’m looking for as well. Tulane, Miami, USC are all pretty high on the list of school I’m looking at…realistically that is.

I’m looking at USC, Miami and Tulane pretty hard as well. I’m leaning towards the first two, but USC is getting harder and harder to get into and I’ll have to see if the money lines up.

Alabama is also on my list. UGA, FSU and ASU may have what your looking for, though ASU isn’t as great in the academic regard.

YEAH the person above me has some good ones. Maybe instead of ASU, go for UoA?

BC, BU, Duke, NYU, Stanford, UCLA

Thanks, sorry but I forgot to mention that I probably won’t be applying to OOS publics because my parents won’t pay for it. I’m applying for financial aid that’s pretty much non existent at public schools except for the strongest OOS applicants.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tulane looks pretty good, but I’m not sure how I’d feel about living in New Orleans. I know it’s a great city and everything but are there opportunities for internships? How are the girls at Tulane?

Oh yea and a beach nearby would be nice, just not required.

I can’t speak for Tulane itself, but NO girls are great.

Just a note- students at Tulane come from all over, especially from the East.

^^^^BC, BU, and NYU are not at all in a warm area, and BC and NYU are pretty hard to get into.

ah I’m sorry, I did not see the warm weather criteria

Can we assume you are from CA based on your screen name?

Haha nope, I live in the midwest.

If you have high grades and stats you might get some scholarship $ from Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas or LSU.

dude, i got accepted to UCSD, UCSC, SJSU, SFSU, UC DAVIS, even Colpoly SLO…all for biochem major for this fall 2010, i turned down all of them for USC, for their spring 2011 …FIGHT ON.
I know, ill be behind a lil bit, but, its in LA!!! we have Beverly hills and so! pls, its a party school…and yea, they have dentistry, pharmacy, medical, law schools…which school has all these?

and yea, we are ranked higher then NYU …again, even UCLA ppl hate the USC students ahah! FIGHT ON

I wouldn’t go to USC if you are interested in cheering for a football team for the next two years.

Just sayin’.
