Who has visited most or all of these schools and can provide a summary essay on them? ;-)

What do u mean? I know of a art school on the fenway…My sister went but i have no doubt thats not what ur talking about.

Emmanuel, Mass. College of Art, Simmons, a pharmacy school, Wentworth and Wheelock. I guess I’m really only asking about Emmanuel, Simmons and Wheelock. And how far are BC and BU from this area?

BU is very close, BC not that close but easily accessible via the T (subway)

art institute of boston i know of the classes building literally is facing the back of fenway Ive been there its good if u like a real smal school plus art…my sister loved it did the 3-yr bachelor fa in photography…

If you believe the trolley/subway schedules, BC is about a half hour from this area. But in actual miles it’s pretty close–it’s just that the trolley is not really fast and makes a lot of stops. It doesn’t SEEM like it takes that long. I made the trip from BC to that area at least a hundred times, and I would have guessed it was about 15 minutes until I looked at the schedule online.

Close to BU, but never sure exactly “where” BU is.
(It stretches for many blocks.)

Also close (all within walking distance) to Northeastern U, Boston Conservatory, Wentworth Institute, Harvard Medical School, New England Conservatory, and Berklee College of Music; also Comm Ave, Newbury St, Beacon St areas. Longish walk to MIT. Great location for college student.

BU and Northeastern are the closest I think(Emerson as well?).

Well, it’s really just that you have to go back to Copley and turn around and catch an outbound B line train, right? It’s not that they’re so far, it’s just that the Boston subway is sort of… convoluted. :)

i misssss boston hering copley…and everything i used to go all the time!!! Thank you! not…im either going some where in boston for college or going to a college in Virginia for horseback riding

Sorry, I can’t provide “an essay,” but a friend graduated from Emerson in the 1980s and went on to a solid career writing that included feature writing for major magazines and is presently at one of the American mega-media companies.

Did a tour of a bunch of these schools last year but Emerson, Simmons, Wheelock are competely different than BC, BU, Northeastern, What are you really looking for? School size? Major? Etc Etc…

The great thing about all these schools is that students can cross register at any of the colleges in the consortium. The colleges also share resources. There has been some talk around Boston that all these schools will eventually form one university. But who knows if it will ever happen. In any event, any of the schools in the consortium are solid choices if you don’t have the stats to get into BC, BU, Northeastern, or Emerson.

YOU WON’T BE BORED!

The Fenway area is accessible by public transportation via MBTA above ground trolley (Greenline). The E Line runs along Huntington Avenue and will take you past Northeastern, the Museum of Fine Arts, Wentworth and Harvard School of Public Health. You could also get to Simmons from the MFA stop. The D line will take you to the Fenway stop. From here it is a short walk to Wheelock, the Simmons Residential Campus, and Emmanuel. It bit further away are some of the BU dorms.

Phew… that’s all I can think of.

Good job, Maximus. One tiny point of clarification, though. Emmanuel is Catholic but not Jesuit.

Okay, great post Maximus but here is my point…which you made more obvious…one is a fine arts school, one is an engineering school, one health sciences, what is OP looking for?? The OP doesn’t make a lot of sense…

“Emmanuel is Catholic but not Jesuit”

My mistake.
