Schools that offer good merit aid for student with low(ish) unweighted GPA?

Female URM with decent ECs, Top 10% of class in a large suburban public school and SATs 1480/2280 (retaking) my classes are all honors + 12 APs. Math has been a weak point for me that has been exacerbated by a learning disability and for that reason primarily my unweighted GPA is 3.35, it might go up a point or so but I’m not insanely optimistic. I don’t qualify for need-baised aid and my family has limited their contribution to 20k a year, enough for state schools in Florida with some left over for grad school but I would prefer a small liberal arts college, is this possible without going 100k into debt?

Are you a National Merit [Semi-]Finalist?

There are some reasonable public LACs to consider:
University of Minnesota - Morris
SUNY - Geneseo
New College of Florida (if in-state)

Are you a National Merit, National Hispanic, or National Achievement? IF you are, there are schools that will give you lots of money. :)

BTW… Great test scores… :)

Does your school weigh grades? If so, what is your weighted GPA?

Do you want to go to school in the Northeast?

How about Mt Holyoke? Great with merit…but it is all-girls (you might not like that)

How about Tulane? or Rhodes College?

Unfortunately I ended up missing NMSF by 1 point, thanks for the suggestions. I am seriously considering New College, however my parents are worried that it’s located in a “retirement community” and it’s too unstructured without grades. I’ll look into Geneseo and University of Minnesota - Morris.

Thanks for the suggests, all girls is fine with me
I’m just commended, my weighted GPA is 4.6

What about Berea in Kentucky? What do you want to study? Just liberal arts? then New College is all liberal arts. I ran your numbers on the Tuition Calculator at Northern Michigan University and it came in with two scholarships for academic awards and the net cost with room and board at just over $12,000 leaving plenty of air fare money to fly home.

Berea ONLY takes need based applicants.
