I was hoping to become a doctor. Possibly an anesthesiologist. I am currently a junior in high school with a 4.0 GPA. I am starting to think of colleges to go to and found out that Youngstown State University (a college near where I live) offers a full scholarship to students who meet requirements. By the time I graduate, I should have met all of the requirements. I considered going to YSU if I can get the scholarship, but I wasn’t sure if it would hurt my chances of getting into medical school. Another school I was looking at was Ohio State. Would YSU be a bad choice or should I go if I get a full ride?

YSU wouldn’t be a bad option, but if you are an Ohio resident OSU wouldn’t be expensive either.

btw, YSU and OSU both have BS/MD programs. YSU’s is with NEOUCOM and is a 6 year program. OSU’s is 8 years but harder to get into. As an Ohio resident (assuming since you said YSU is where you live) you would get a big advantage in admissions to NEOUCOM’s program.

I did hear about YSU’s BS/MD program, but I also heard NEOUCOM isn’t a very good school.
