Schools with a hacker culture.

I really liked the hacker culture I saw when visiting MIT but I don’t think that I could get in there. Are there any other schools with a good hacker culture like MIT?

That school already seemed like a good match for me, awesome.

If you mean a good match in terms of your interests, OK. If you mean match in terms of safeties, matches and reaches, please be aware that CMU (as far as Computer Science) is not a “match” for anyone. SCS had a 7% admit rate this past year. If you are interested in Computer Engineering, the admit rate to CIT was 18%. We just dropped DS off at CMU for his freshman year. In his welcome speech, President Suresh noted that the school had rejected 125 applicants with perfect SAT Math and CR. So it’s more than a numbers game, as are most selective schools. Your previously posted statistics seem in the ballpark, so definitely apply! What would guarantee acceptance? Beats me, I don’t think anyone could tell you.

By match I meant that everything I want is there and my grades are in the ballpark so its a good school to apply to.

Maybe look at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute or Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Yes, WPI and RPI, depending on your qualifications.
