I have a friend who recently transferred out to Cooper Union, and they paid everything for him, or at least all of his tuition. According to my friend, Cooper Union will pay everything for you if you get accepted

I forgot to mention im only looking for big schools with over 15k undergrads .

Washington University in St. Louis is notorious for giving amazing financial aid packages to not only transfers, but international students and other usually ignored groups in the FA business.

Vanderbilt gave me an exceptional offer. I’m so glad I applied!

I love this post. I am looking forward to being a transfer student too, and not many schools have that many great “transfer” scholarships.

Most are for incoming freshman. =/

I received a huge scholarship from the University of New Orleans today. They gave me the maximum the offer transfers and waived my out of state fees. However, I’m taking a gap year to work, so I declined the offer. It was a really tough decision.

That being said, don’t count out state schools, either!

^^^ OMG why would you do that???

We should make this a sticky also if you can please say which stats are needed for the scholarships and is it instant? or competition? .

Does ohio state give anything for transfers? or lsu?

To answer your question, DeterminedJay, I will say that I had not submitted my final transcript to UNO nor had I attended orientation or registered for fall classes, so receiving so hefty of a scholarship was completely unexpected. I visited the school this past June and didn’t like it as much as I thought I would (however, if I’m eligible for a scholarship next year, it may sway my opinion just a bit) and I’m committed to several things, including an amazing PR job and a chance to become a member of a professional fire performing troupe during my coming gap year.

The way I see it, I have been given so many amazing opportunities to pursue my interests and professional goals, I believe school can be put on hold (for a limited amount of time!) to pursue them. I am very lucky to have such an amazing support system around me that will let me do this.

Sorry, I feel that I am completely ■■■■■■■■ this post with my explanation. To contribute, I will say that when I visited Loyola New Orleans they said they offer transfers up to $12,000 in merit scholarships. Tuition there runs about $30,000 a year. As for LSU, their website says to check back soon. Go figure.

Chernabogsays, can I ask what your GPA was that you got such a great deal from UNO?

What kind of stats did you guys have when transferring? Did they weigh in your high school credentials? Mine aren’t that great…
