Schools with great theatre and international relations/poli sci departments?

And of course if you study IR at an American college, you will study abroad–that’s part of virtually every such program, which goes without saying. If you’re interested in both poli sci and IR, it makes perfect sense to study these subjects relative to American history, government, and policy. And your chances of finding realistic financial aid are much better at an American school (obviously). Good luck–you are clearly undertaking a thoughtful and thorough search! :)

What are some liberal arts schools with good theatre programs? I know they generally have good poli sic/ IR departments.

Two specific suggestions, based on your academic track record and interests so far: Dickinson (in Pennsylvania) and Drew (in New Jersey). And I would definitely second the suggestion to look at American University. Helpful resources: a current or recent edition of The Fiske Guide (so you can explore colleges and find comparable schools) and, if your high school uses Naviance, the scattergram comparisons, which show you the GPA/SAT statistics for your school’s college admissions records at various programs.

I know I’m a long shot for places like Georgetown and NW now, but if my test scores go up a lot and my GPA improves, do I have a chance?

I still think that the “culture shock” of moving to another country is exactly what you need to better understand International issues . . .
