Schools you've heard back from....

You have to be invited @octaviar

Octaviar, you should be able to find it–just type “The Unified” in the search bar of Facebook. It’ll come up as a closed group. Hopenest says you have to be invited, and I haven’t ever looked into it so I don’t know what happens if you click “join” in hopes of being approved, but I’ve always been able to find the page.

It’s really meant for students, by the way.

OK, thanks. It still doesn’t come up for me. I’m not that worried about it… I was going to tell my son about it then remembered he is not the one checking obsessively if he’s gotten any news yet…

My son never bothered with the equivalent group last year either; he was invited into this year’s version as an admitted BFA student, so he did join, but I’m not sure he ever looks at it! If your son decides he wants to join, PM me with his FB info and I’ll pass it along to my guy. Good luck to him and you, too, as the results roll in! :)

My son didn’t want to look at The Unified, I think it he thought it would be too much. He is part of CMU 2013 pre-college and another FB group. He doesn’t want updates from me, and told me he would let me know :)

My daughter only looked at it over the weekend the CMU calls went out. I wish she hadn’t. No good came from it other than unnecessary stress. Entertainersmom – my D was a 2012 pre-college CMU and grew very attached to the place. I’m very glad it worked out the way it did and so is she but that was a rough weekend.

ActingDad - Son went last summer and loved CMU and the faculty. It was his number one until his auditions, now it is tied for number one with a few others  He knows it is such a long shot, and knew that going into pre-college, mostly because I told him after reading the threads here. UNCSA was the only BFA Acting he auditioned for (all others MT). His cousin graduated from UNCSA a few years ago majoring in Lighting Design.

Good luck entertainersmom. An MT oriented kid will feel very at home at UNCSA. My daughter only auditioned for acting programs but has an MT streak in her. You probably know this but they do dance and singing training as part of the program and they’ve had pretty good success at having graduates in musicals even though its not technically an MT program.

Thanks ActingDad! It was your posts last Spring that prompted me to ask son to consider the program, as well as some input from his cousin :)

This is a hot forum on Facebook, so I decided to move it here also just in case people aren’t aware. It can be acceptances/rejections/waitlists/callbacks.
Let’s keep this going here as well ( don’t add old info prior to 2/26 if you can please) :)

Ithaca is hot right now on Facebook, a lot of people heard back today.

My D got acceptance letter from the New School of Drama today. She auditioned in NYC on February 22nd.

Congrats notactingmom!!!

Congratulations, notactingmom!!!

Congrats to notacting mom!!! That is where son attends, if you have any questions, I am happy to answer them (if I can!!).

Yippeee and congrats Notactingmom!

Thank you, thank you! Photomom5, thank you! I am reading everything I can find on CC about the New School, and I am sure I will have tons of questions! Thank you for offering the help. This was the one of three auditions my daughter had alone, without me! So, I had no chance to see the school and to be at an information session. Thank God, we have CC! :)

How is he doing @photomom5 ? I remember when you posted your New School acceptance and how cool it waS. Lots of good news today…very happy for everyone.

My D got accepted into Marymount Manhattan, BFA, just got notification today. She auditioned in NYC on February 15th. I am beyond happy for her having this great choice! Her initial reaction was that she’d prefer the New School but I advised her to do some more research. I would be happy with either of the schools, both look great to me.

Congrats t @notactingmom. I suspect that few kids will get their first choice.it is an honor to be accepted to any BFA program…I truly believe they will all end up where they are supposed to be.
