Has anyone had experience with an alumni interview for Schreyer Honors College? Any tips, thoughts, or advice would be appreciated.
@momofjd friend’s son interviewed on Saturday met in a Dunkin Donuts. said the interview lasted 45 mins and was basically driven by the alumni asking many questions about their career ambitions, classes and personal info. I was curious to see if they ask about the schreyers application and the essays and she said not one thing was mentioned about the application. My son has his this Saturday meeting at a Target in NJ. Will share his experience if I can get details. Good luck to your child
@mamahills Thanks for the feedback! My son has his interview today at a Starbucks.
@momofJDJJ can you share your son’s Schreyers interview experience as you’ve asked others to do by starting this tread? My son has his next weekend
Sure, it was basically the same as the one you mentioned above. Casual conversation about his career interests, volunteer experience, classes. There was just one question that he felt he didn’t have a great answer for off the top of his head: “What motivates you?”, so maybe your son can be prepared for that one in case they ask!
@mamahills See my answer above. I forgot to add your name to the post.
Thank you momofjdjj very helpful info for Saturday
A friend of our family is headed for his interview this weekend. They are debating what he should wear to the interview. Normally, I would expect him to wear a suit to an interview but it’s at a Panera Bread. Is a suit overkill? Opinions?
Yes, suit would be overkill. Tie if he’s used to them. Nice, pressed pants/shirt/sweater/non-sport shoes are fine.
@4topay4 my son had his interview last Sunday at a Target. He wore a sweater with a collared shirt underneath and black khakis. A wouldn’t recommend a suit or tie. Business casual, no jeans and sneakers.
