science/arts program?

any good schools w/ a strong science and music program?

Many top schools (such as GLADCHEMS) will be well-rounded, so they will be fairly strong in science and music as well.

Choate has an Arts Concentration program that includes music, as well as a Science Research Program. Here is the description: “This honors program consists of three linked segments: 1) three terms of training in the basics of scientific inquiry and experimentation, 2) a summer of research in a university (or similar) laboratory, and 3) a final term assembling a manuscript of the summer work that aims to meet the standards of a professional publication.”

Exeter is great at math and science, and based on your username, I trust you know that Andover excels at just about everything. Most schools will also offer private music lessons for voice/instruments and have several ensembles for you to participate in. You could also look at the course guides for some schools to see if they offer a good variety of classes, especially in specific topics you are interested in.

Best of luck!

Concord has a strong science program with a variety of electives, a science internship program, and an active engineering club. It typically sends a relatively large number of students to colleges like MIT and Caltech (as well as students who go on to major in science at LACs and Ivies).

It also has a very strong arts program, including music. There is a chamber orchestra that works with a professional in-residence chamber ensemble. It has 3 jazz ensembles, other instrumental ensembles, and several school-run and student-run singing groups. They offer private lessons in just about any instrument as well as beginner courses in several different instruments.

What is GLADCHEMS?
thank you.

GLADCHEMS is just an analogy for some well-known, “top tier” schools. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it stands for Groton, Lawrenceville, Andover, Deerfield, Choate, Hotchkiss, Exeter, Milton/Middlesex (?), and St. Paul’s.
