Science- becoming faster! Please!

Hi everyone!

I have been studying for the ACT. I have a good score in all sections except science, which is pulling my composite score down.

I am doing a practice science test per day and what I have noticed is that while I am very good at the science I always run out of time (I could finnish if I had an extra 4-5 minutes).
I have tried doing the ppassages in order and out of order (starting with 5s, then, 6s, and then 7), but it hasn’t worked…

Can anyone give me tips to finnish the science faster?

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Burst through the experiment abstracts or whatever you call them but just quickly underline the technical jargon. I am sure you noticed that sometimes only half the experiments actually show up on the questions, so I suggest give a small glimpse to the graph but don’t bother analyzing it. Its really easy, its just that they mask everything with big words and unfamiliar graphs. Just go through the questions, passage by passage but really skim through it with some type of understanding of the main point.

By the way, can I ask, where do u get enough tests to practice every day? I have trouble with English but I dont want to burn up all my test too early.

Science is also my worst subject. So the first time I took it I actually read the brief information they had at the top of the paragraph, but it confused me so I had to read it again. The second time I took it I just briefly skimmed it (like I do in the reading section), then looked at the questions since they usually state specific graphs to look at in the question. This raised my score by 4 points.

@darkaeroga Sorry for replying until now, my internet was down! I did all of the tests form the Red Book, a practice test published by the ACT (4th option here: [Test Prep | ACT Student](<a href=“ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT”>ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT)), an old practice test I got from my school counselor, and then I am just doing Barron’s (they are not actual tests but I find that they are very similar to the real thing).

@Nicolezzz13 ok! Do you usually just do this with the intro or also with the paragraphs before the experiments?

I do it with all the paragraphs before. I treat it like I read on the Reading section (which is just really fast, underlining key words). When’s your test? I’m taking mine in a week
