<p>For those of you who have done the Intel International fair before (or will do it this year, etc.), how long did it take you to do your project? Did you receive some help from a lab, scientist, professor, etc.? How did you contact them? I know people who’ve tried to contact places like that to get permission to use some apparatus and never get a response…</p>
<p>I haven’t participated in the program, but I’ve heard research takes somewhere between four weeks to several months. Most people I know who entered Intel or Siemens worked with a professor at a research university (through summer programs). Try to contact your local public or private university through e-mail or snail mail.</p>
