Science on ACT?

From what I’ve heard/seen, you really only need to be able to read graphs and charts. I am not very good in science, so do you need to be really good at science to score high on the ACT?

Another question: How do you calculate the ACT composite score?

To answer your first question: No. I am not an amazing science student… but I am definitely above average (Reg ES, Honors Bio, Honors CHem, AP Psych, AP Bio) and I got a 35 on the actual ACT Science with very little prep (two practice tests).

Second question: Add up all four of the scores from the English, Math, Reading and Science sections and divide the number by four.

an important thing to keep in mind WRITING DOES NOT AFFECT COMPOSITE SCORE. I thought it did for nearly a year. I got a 36 on science and some background knowledge is helpful but not necissary. Just like mcvcm i do take all advanced science classes but am also a sophomore so… yeah. Just budget your time wisely and make sure you know what types of questions they can ask (like charts, graphs, 2 arguing scientists, experiments).

thanks guys
