science section

I just took a practice ACT and I actually did well on the science (33) but i found myself pressed for time and if it was the real test, Im not sure i would have been able to bubble in the answer sheet (i just circled the answers in the book). The problem may have been that I read the whole experiment before looking at the questions. Would it be better to just go right to the questions? Overall whats the most efficient way to tackle the science questions so I don’t rush at the end and risk making an error?

Also is 31 composite good for the first time taking a practice test

ive been wondering the same thing. i think the hardest part about the science section is time

I don’t believe that there is one strategy that works for all individuals. I suggest that you experiment and decide upon which method you find to be the most preferable.

I got a 33 on the science section when I took the ACT for the 1st time/for real.

I read through the whole experiment on most of them. Eventually though, I just started scanning graphs and referencing the experiment for clarity. I bubbled in my answers fine. However, I will admit that I got to an organic chem section looking thing and guessed on all of those.

Also, a 31 is great. Absolutely fantastic. You should be proud if you get that score for real.

i got a 28 on my first practice test and one the practice i took yesterday a got a 34, so i would say a 31 is really good. if you are good at science i would suggest not even reading the passage, but if your not reading the passage really helps you understand what is going on.

Thanks for all the responses. I think reading the introduction then moving on to the questions is what will work for me. Im gonna ignore the tables and stuff until the question asks for them. The section itself is not that hard but I just wish I had more time. Also I have been taking more tests recently and my scores range about the same. I have been getting 30s and 31s, so im feeling confident going into saturday.
