Science Struggles (Help + Tips please)

I have looked through many old threads and have seen a lot of people struggle with this section as well, but for most of them it is because of the timing.

However, for me, I struggle with this section because I am very weak at science and I usually have no idea what’s going on after the first ten questions. I got a 25 on this section on my very first practice test, but since then, my scores have been lower (floating around 22-24, got 22 on real ACT).

I always go straight to the questions first and then try to answer them based on what they ask. What are some ways I can improve (I am already doing a lot of practice) and should I change my strategy? Also if you are good at this section, please share your tips as well.

If this helps: for the Reading section, I actually read every word of each passage first and then I answer the questions (I always have to refer back to the passage, but I usually know exactly where to find answers) Highest I scored in this section is 36.

For science always read the background info as some questions ask about an item mentioned in the background info. How are you at interpreting graphs? Thats the most important skill needed. Since you are strong in reading do the different view point questions first

Check out the thread for the science section I made a couple of weeks ago! I was (still am, but doing much better now) in the same boat as you. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1788180-act-science-section.html#latest
