Science vs History

hi there! I’m a highschool student, and I’m torn between history and science focuses for college. Has anyone else faced the same debate, and how did they make the final choice?
Also, anyone know of particularly good colleges for both of those things? I’m not sure where I should apply because I’m so torn - a science-based or humanities-based school.

Most colleges are not “science-based” or “humanities-based” schools; they are well-rounded liberal arts colleges or universities where you can find good solid departments in either area. Obviously you might not want to go to a place like MIT or Georgia Tech if you are thinking of majoring in history, potentially, but even a place like Stanford or Purdue or UIUC - places that are known for strong science and engineering departments - also have great departments in the social sciences and humanities. Good schools tend to have good departments in many areas.

My suggestion is that you wait until you get closer to college, then take some classes and see what you like better.
