Science

I have taken the Sat oncr (1940) and taking the act Saturday. Any major difference and any tips for science

There are a ton of differences. I strongly recommend that you get ACT 36 by Barrons and read through it before taking the test. I read that and got a 33 on my first ACT (if you take out the reading section which I literally skipped because I was so tired haha).

The science section is arguably very difficult for many – not because they don’t know science – but because there is a lot of technique learned by rote that one must acquire to learn to succeed on the science section. The #1 piece of advice I can give you is don’t read every single word (except for the viewpoint part of the science section). 95% of the time, answers to science multiple choice questions can be obtained by reading or processing data from a graph or table.

Hope this helps!

To add on to what he^ said, I would never read the articles except for the arguing scientists one. You will NOT finish if you do. I didn’t and finished with about two minutes left (ask anyone, it is almost impossible to finish so early) and I got a 32 my first time.

I took it in October and read the sections before doing the questions… I had to guess on the last few. Don’t read anything except for the conflicting viewpoints. I ended up with a 29, which is lucky considering I had to guess on a few, killed my composite though.

Wow, thanks a lot guys.
