score choice

my situation is as follows…

i gave the SAT reasoning test 2 years ago…got around 1700…(ikr)
i gave the SAT subject tests this year got 750+ in bio and chem and 700+in phy…

ill be giving the ACT in oct and i do think i can get 32+

why did i get the 1700…my father had suffered a heard attack and was in the hospital at the time…he later on suffered a stoke which left him partially paralyzed which is y i am on my second gap year.

i plan on applying SCEA to yale this year…but i would LOVE to send my SAT subject test scores as they r quite good…but i dont want them to see the 1700… and the problem is tht yale doesnt want students to use score choice…

soo i can either just send the ACT scores
or ACT with all SATs including the 1700…and possibly an explanation on why i think i got the 1700??? would the explanation make any difference or will my application be hopelessly thrown in the rejected pile once they see the 1700…

The SAT 1700 you took as a Fr or Soph will be seen in that light. I wouldn’t worry about it one second.

oh no…im an international student and that was taken in my senior year (A levels)…i’m on my second gap year right now which is why its 2 years old…

I would send them the ACT score or retake the SAT. As an international student, it’s already super competitive. If you can get a good ACT score, then that will negate the need to send the subject test scores. If I were you, I’d aim for a 34+.
