I am going to take Subject SAT Math. I want to release the score to colleges only if I am satisfied with it. If I am not, I am not going to send this score. Do I understand it correctly that in order to do that when I register for SAT Math, I do not select any colleges for the score to be sent. Then when I know the score, if I like it, I will pay extra and send them to the colleges of my choice.

If you want to assure the school will not know the score:

Do not list the college on the test application for a free send and wait until score comes out and send for a fee if you like it.

Do not provide the identity of your high school on the app for the test. If you do your high school will get the score and many high schools put all your scores on your official high school transcript that is sent to colleges.

If your application to the college requests you to list all scores, you may choose to not answer that question or choose to apply before the score comes out.

A caveat: do not attempt to withhold the score from any college that requires you to provide all scores for tests you have taken.

Thank you very much for your reply. The colleges I am applying do not require all scores.
I have already registered for SAT Math. I did not list any colleges to receive my score, but I do not remember about my high school. I went back into my registration to double check, but unfortunately cannot finf where I could make sure my high school will not receive my score. Do you by chance know how to check and change if needed.

If you have already applied for the test and cannot remember about listing high school chances are virtually certain you put it in is because the test apps have a standard section to put it in. Don’t know how or if you can change. School will receive your score if you filled in the spaces. That then becomes an issue as to whether your school will remove scores from your transcript if you request when ordering the transcript and you can check with your high school on that one (and even if it is one those that actually includes all scores). Schools should remove upon request but often the administrative personnel at high schools who handle sending transcripots do not understand that because taking something off of a transcript that they usually put on is a thought process beyond their bureaucratic minds.
