Questions : Is uncertainty a sign of weakness or a path to grow ?

At different stages of life, one must at least for once encounters situations that he could easily could not easily come into a decision. In such dilemmas, uncertainty is inevitable. While some may believe it to be a sign of weakness, I believe such vacillation let people to mediate on things which later enable them to grow up and achieve goals they have set. My above-mentioned thesis is clearly substantiated by the epitomes of Anna Sayers in the movie Black Swan and the protagonist of Ghibli’s animation Spirited Away, Chihiro.
At the beginning of Black Swan, Anna came across as a fearful, innocent and controlled girl. When casting for Swan Queen in the play Swan Lake, while the portrait of White Swan came naturally as the part of Anna’s character, she struggled to elicit the seductive. dark and enigmatic Black Swan. As she was so desperate for the part of “Swan Queen”, Anna was caught in the middle between her own identity and the transformation required for the role. Lost when wavering between the choices, Anna did harm herself immeasurably as she was prone to intense hallucination. Anna was so engrossed and trapped in the world of Swan Lake that she forgot about her real world. However, such disorientation was a substance for Anna’s maddening dance and in-depth feeling for the role she portrait. At the end of the movie, the perfection that Anna felt did not only come from the successful rendition of Swan Lake but also the maturation of her personality after undergoing such intricate and disgraceful state of mind.
Chihiro initially gave the impression of a spoiled teen girl who resisted any change in her life and never lifted a finger before. When trapped in the spirit world, she was forced to stand own her own feet to escape and rescue her parents from being turned into pigs. Chihiro ran into real dilemma as she had to stay true to herself, for names were of fundamental importance which freed people from thr dogmatic authorities in the spirit world, and also lived under the identity of Sen, a bathhouse girl in order to stay away from those spirits which would kill any heretic of their world. At first , as she was totally bewildered about her path to escape, Chihiro did whatever Yubaba, the bathhouse owner told her idly and ineffectively. However, after a while working in the bathhouse, Chihiro gradually learned how to keep up with things. She eventually managed to find the common ground of the identity of Sen and her own. As Sen, Chihiro could elicit the quality which was instinctively hers: kindness and respectfulness, for she had to rely on them when dealing with her customers, the aggressive spirits. The paradoxical situation has made Chihiro grow into a stronger person, who was capable of anything imposed on her.
In sum, uncertainty, though somehow creating us nuisance and conundrum, is something of essence to our lives.
