So I am an ESL learner but I try to make my language as natural as possible. See if that impede your understanding and give me a score.

Of course, tenacity is a virtue that is repeatedly depicted in literature. However, I believe that compromise can usually be more useful when people are solving impending and practical problems. In the history, Abraham Lincoln compromised to save the nation. Nowadays, the Three Amigos of the Boston Celtics in NBA tell the advantage of flexibility.

To save the Union, Lincoln started the Civil War. In the course of the war, Lincoln made his famous Emancipation Proclamation. Therefore, it is no doubt that Lincoln was an abolitionist. However, when the North won the war, Lincoln did not punish the South despite the casualties that the South incurred. He made his 10% Plan under which a Southern state could be readmitted as soon as 10% of its citizens took the oath. At this time, he certainly knew that not all Southern people accepted the abolitionist view to free the slaves. Nevertheless, he did not forget why the North fought the war, risking countless lives to win. That is to preserve the Union. Thus, he compromised on the slavery issue. From the hindsight, most of people recognize Lincoln as a great man, instead of a timid compromiser. Had he not compromised, the United States would have been torn down at that time, reconciliation would have never been achieved, and rapid after-war development would have never taken place. Therefore, compromise is essential for decision makers in a country.

Though not as vital as it is in a nation, flexibility is still the key of victory for a sports team. The most remarkable example is the Three Amigos of the Boston Celtics in NBA. Consisting of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Three Amigos are considered as the most powerful combination in NBA. However, at first, the performance of the team was not as good as was expected. After time, the team began to improve. The reason of low performance was that everyone was so eager to score that less cooperation took place. When they finally made changes, the winning rate went up and they won the final champion of 2008. Cooperation is very important because passing the ball can confuse the opponent while creating better chance for teammate to score. If all team members choose not to compromise and score the ball by themselves, then the defense will be very easy and the overall efficiency will be very low. However, being flexible and contributing to the team is generally useful in such sports as basketball and soccer.

Whenever there is human, there is compromise. Even though insistence can sometimes achieve greatness, compromise is often the better policy because compromise can make people understand each other better and try to work for each other.
