So I am debating between four SAT IIS to take in June:

Spanish – I am in Spanish IV, this test seems like it’d be a piece of cake.

Math II – v. good at math as well; took Calc AB recently

Lit – Haven’t looked at it, but I just took the Eng. Lang AP

Bio – I remember a lot of bio from freshman year, and I took a biotech class first semester.

Right now I’m signed up for Spanish, Lit, and Bio, thinking that since I have a math AP, it might be better to try Bio to broaden my field and have something science-related. However, I’m also considerably less sure of myself in bio than math. Is that stupid?

If you are less sure in bio, I would strongly reccomend you to take maths. I don’t think you must have something science-related. As far as I’m concerned, the universities that require a science generally also require a maths, so in that case you’d better take both. And one more advice, no matter what your choices are, be sure to take at least some practice tests in the same conditions as the exam. if you don’t have a book, try the sparknotes ones. You may know the material very well, but if you “Haven’t looked at it” you may have problems organising your time during the test for example.

Have you looked at spanish? If you are only in spanish 4 I would say that you are screwed. Many native spanish speakers DESTROY the curve. I can’t imagine you’re some amazing speaker if you justify Lit bc you’re in AP Lang/LIt. Also you are misinformed bc you are taking 3 in a day. The best test takers split them up and take a max 2 at a time to devote all intellect to that test for maximum scores. Have you opened a review book? If not, you’re in for a surprise on Lit, spanish, and bio…bioo freshman year…ouch. It took me AP Bio and 5 practice books to get an 800

well, take math if you took AP- you may score better. you can’t take 4 so take your strongest- remember- if you mess up one test you have to cancel all or live with all of them.

1MX: the curve for Spanish is pretty good, actually. I’m taking AP Spanish (my third year) and I got over a 700 on the practice test, without trying hard. And I’m no prodigy when it comes to Spanish.

Yes, I’ve looked at Spanish. Doesn’t look too challenging to me. I am about 2/3 of the way through a PR practice test and have three wrong. . . is it really that bad?

And I would totally justify lit by my English experience – I self-“studied” language, but have taken quite a few honors lit classes. I really think I’ll do fine, but again, have you taken it? Is it worse than I am expecting?

Whatever – I’ll try three in one day and just do my strongest (math) last – do you get to choose the order? – I’d rather get them all out of the way anyway; I’ll see how I do on the first go-round :).
