How important are test scores at upenn? (As opposed to the rest of the application)

At any highly competitive school–unless you are “hooked” in a serious way–to make the first cut you need above a 2100 or so, at minimum.

^Although this isn’t officially true, a non-hooked applicant generally needs good test scores to even be competitive at topic schools like Penn

what exactly do you mean by “hooked”?

“Hooked” applicants generally include URM’s (Under-Represented Minorities), recruited athletes, legacies and developmental students. These students are accepted at a significantly higher rate than are the others and therefore do not need extremely high scores to be competitive.

man common its UPenn…and numbers matter a lot here (if your dad’s a billionaire, that number would help too)

so yeah i would say scores and essays are the most important for these ivys

Transcript/class rank is generally considered more important than either of those

U Penn and others like them routinely reject a supermajoprity of students with
800 on math
Valedictorians
800 on verbal
4.0

think of your numbers are getting you into consideration

almost ALL students offered admissions “qualify” for the school

what do you bring to the school besides (the same kind of) good statistics (that almost everybody else has)?
