Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question; If one’s SAT score is higher than average, will that boost the chance of one getting into their dream college? Or will the necessary SAT score still apply… For example, I wish to attend University of Toronto, but my scores do not meet their requirement. I scored a 1520 and they require at least 550 in each section. Since the 2015 average was 1490, will I have a better chance of being accepted? I am trying to improve my scores at least by 300… Hopefully I’ll be able to and I won’t have to worry about this!
Assuming a strict requirement of >=550 for each section, then the requirement takes precedence.
Simply being above the average isn’t as impressive as you seem to think it is. Lots of people do that.
