In my Chemistry class we took a 100 point exam, I ended up getting a 79. While taking the test, a student pointed out a typo on a page in the test booklet. Questions five and six were out of order, question six came after four with question five being after six. The teacher assistant announced the issue to the class, and wrote down something concerning the issue on the board. I could not see the board, and assumed the teacher assistant wanted us to just answer them using their matching numbers on the bubble sheet. Because of this, I answered question five in the question five bubble, and question six in the question six bubble. I ended up getting both questions wrong, since they were switched. I got the correct answer for both questions, however wrote them down wrong.
I emailed the professor regarding this, as it resulted in the difference between an 87% and a 79%, but she wasn’t very helpful. Her response was essentially that the TA addressed the issue, and she saw it, so I should pay attention to the TA. I explained that I misinterpreted the TA, and could not see what the TA wrote on the board. I stated I accepted partial responsibility, however I did get both questions correct and hoped we could find a middle ground. She has yet to respond, roughly three hours later.
Should I drop it, or is there another person I should try contacting to help get some points back?
Thanks
