Scrambles

Does anyone know when we are going to information on the Scrambles? Will it be sent snail-mail or email? I’ve looked at the website dozens of times, but all I can find is the 2008 list of Scrambles, not forms to download. I was also under the impression that we were going to get descriptions of each trip… Anyone know something? I don’t want to miss the opportunity. Thanks :)

Haha no worries, you’re not going to miss it! From what I know, they’re supposed to mail it out sometime over the summer. Scrambles aren’t until the week before orientation, and since typically less than half of the incoming freshman class chooses to go, they’re probably not in any hurry. :)

There’s a contact person and an email address on the scrambles 08 page. I’m sure that person will answer all your questions.

Thanks guys! I feel a lot better :)

If you really, really want to go, look over the list now and decide on what type of scramble you would like best so you are ready to jump in and register. Keep checking the website. Don’t wait - they always fill up fast. Spending weeks looking at the booklet debating hiking vs canoeing might mean you don’t do either.

If you have never done any of the activities the clothes and gear can add up quickly but the Outdoor program office rents out most of the big items like backpacks and sleeping bags and rain gear. Reserve early.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve done lots of outdorr stuff before :). I was just confused because I’ve looked at the website a million times, and I saw that the deadline for most of the forms, EXCEPT the official registration form, is May 15th. How am I supposed to pick a scramble without a description? But if there’s a booklet coming, like you say, that is fantastic. Thanks.

I’d call tomorrow - can’t remember when the booklets went out last year, but if any forms are due May 15th, that would worry me.
