I am an avid scrapbooker, so naturally I want to do a page showing college acceptances.

Anyone have any good ideas about cool photos to take of your D or S as they got their letters. I did take the following already:

One of my D jumping in midair with her Wellesley shirt on --thank you multi-burst setting

One of my D coming back from mailbox with all her big envelopes.

any other ideas?

I’m also looking for ideas for teacher and counselor thank you’s after all the decisions come out.

A friend of mine shrinks things (school play program, scholarship letter, acceptance
letter) way down on a copy machine to use on a scrapbook page - using colored xerox paper.

My kids just send thank you letters to anyone who contributed to applications. The counselors and letter-writers appreciate the thought/effort. (If you REALLY want to add something, slip in a modest gift card - coffee shop or office supply store.)

I’ve been taking pictures of my son next to a sign of every college he has visited and we visited a LOT of colleges. I planning to do one picture with all of those pic’s as the frame for a big picture of the final choice college.

I did save my son’s acceptance letter with the intention of using as the backing when his degree was framed; now that even seems a little silly to me. (I didn’t use it, but it’s still around somewhere.)

I’ve pulled my D college essays (and a few of her supplements) and put them in a file. They are so sweet, optimistic and full of hopes that it makes a mother’s heart ache. I think in about 10 years or so, I’ll show them to her and see if she still feels the same way. I am not a scrapbook person but plans to keep all her acceptance letters. She may never have it so good again.

The only regret I have about the entire college process was that I tossed S’s other 9 acceptance letters into the recycling bin right after he chose his college. I’d recommend keeping them for awhile. When I think of all the paper junk I do hand on to, why not save those 9 pieces of paper?
