scrapbooks/photo albums?

Any recommendations? I have my parents 1952 wedding photos in a box plus others–they are gone now as well as most of the people pictured in the wedding party. They are all different sizes. Something simple would be nice–but not real elaborate. I’m thinking if they were collected nicely in something compact, then perhaps my children wouldn’t just toss them out when they clean out our house! If they are just kept in boxes they probably would get thrown away.

Also I have hand embroidered towels stored in a box, made from bleached flour sacks, my mom got for shower gifts. A large collection, she never used them and they are coordinated together. The writing from the sacks has returned. At first we were thinking of making a quilt, sewing them together, but I don’t know now, would a wall hanging be nicer? ideas gratefully solicited! thanks, from one who needs to de clutter !

I am the world’s worst at getting the pictures from the big Rubbermaid container into photo albums so I can’t help you there.

As far as the embroidered towels. I, too, have some embroidered pieces from my grandmother … most of them are pillowcases. I’ve wondered about making Christmas stockings for my siblings and all of our children so we can all enjoy the pieces. I’ve also thought of doing that with my quilt my grandmother made me when I was young. It’s so very worn, but if I reinforce it with backing, it would work well, I think.

I’m also interested in ideas others have.
